All of you get worried about our weight at some time during your life. For some people that means focusing on dropping a few pounds (like me) or for others the situation where they’re actually trying to gain weight (like my brother in law). Some people rely on their clothes as a way of measuring how much weight they’ve lost. This is fine in theory but to be really sure about your weight loss you’ll have to use an accurate bathroom scales to be really sure of your achievements – be it up or down.
The best time to weigh yourself is first thing in the morning – just after you wake up. Why? Because you’re fully rested and your stomach is full so you’ll have an accurate idea of what your true weight is. It also means you’ll be missing most of your clothes – these can add sneaky pounds on to your final weight so best to weigh yourself without them.
Do you absolutely need a bathroom scales at home? Well you can live without one (as you may have noticed already) but you’re just going to wind up trying to guess what you weigh. 10 pounds can sneak onto your waistline a lot more quickly that you’d realize or notice. Having an accurate scales around means that you can keep it in the bathroom and just use it once or twice a week to check your weight. That way it’s like an early warning system to watch what you’re eating and get more exercise. It’s much easier to stop yourself gaining a lot of weight than it is trying to lose that weight later on.
Finding a good model is easy enough; most department stores carry a variety of scales priced anywhere from $20 upwards. Now I know you all love a bargain however if you really want an accurate bathroom scale you will need to spend a few extra bucks and get yourself a good one. It’s your health that you’re dealing with here so don’t skimp on what you’re buying.
To keep the scales reading accurate you need to check it every now and again. The way you do this is by watching where the needle points – it has to be pointing exactly to the ‘0′ on the top without you touching the scales at all. If you notice big changes in your weight from day to day then your scales is probably faulty.
Keeping track of your weight will keep you in good health and shape and even if you hate it now and then for the truth your bathroom scale displays remember that it is for your own good. Your scales is your friend even though it can feel like an enemy. It’s there to keep you in line and stop a lot of health problems before they ever even start.
